It’s Crane Season!

April- The Closing of Oak Season so…

it’s Crane Season!

Not only are the Cranes migrating back north, but The Truck crane has migrated to LundinTree!
What does this mean?
– This will make no-to-low-time impact tree care possible for many of our clients with tough-to-access properties. So now is the time to order your trees for planting!

As the season changes, it is time to plan for any early season pruning in order to get your yard in tip-top shape for backyard barbecues and graduation parties.

What does it do?

This crane is designed for tree work and can reach tight locations compared to standard cranes seen on a construction site. It has a chainsaw and grappling attachment, so we can remove humans from danger when we have hazardous trees to work on.

What are the benefits and most useful features of the crane?

-This will have less impact on the surrounding landscape, less time spent on their property, less risk to the workers on the job site, and more time available to work on preserving trees we can save!
– The most useful feature is the ability to cut remotely so if there is a risk of falling limbs or movement, the arborists can be clear. It also has a bright pink cab with strobe lights all over, keeping us highly visible!

Why is spring the best time to order trees and how do I know which trees to order?

-Spring orders offer more availability to order trees, unlike other seasons.
-Location would be discussed along with sunlight, soil type, and what your goals are. What do you want out of a tree, a big tree for shade, a long-term tree that will be here 100s of years? Or a small ornamental? Fruit trees for snacking?

When does a tree need to be pruned?

Signs of a tree needing pruning are as follows: Broken branches and large dead branches that could cause damage or hit someone when they fall.
Though, not all trees need pruning! Many do not need pruning if placed in an area that is natural to them. Usually, we only need to prune trees to reduce risk to people or things people own. Sometimes, we prune to reduce the risk of the tree failing after it has had an abnormal outside influence (wind or damage from construction, car accident, etc.)
